Kenyan singer Kendi Kiremi has confirmed that her relationship with rapper Timmy Tdat has come to an end, leaving fans surprised by the unexpected announcement.
Kiremi shared the news publicly after what she described as a period of careful consideration. The singer made it clear that she had made a personal decision to walk away from the relationship and was ready to begin a new chapter.
In her statement, Kiremi said she had chosen to part ways with Timmy Tdat after giving the matter considerable thought.
“After much consideration, I’ve chosen to part ways with Timmy Tdat,” she said.
The singer also clarified that the separation goes beyond their romantic relationship. According to Kiremi, she is no longer connected to Tdat as his wife, girlfriend or business partner.
“I am no longer his wife, girlfriend or business partner,” she added.
Kiremi did not disclose what led to the decision and did not make any accusations against the rapper. Her statement focused mainly on confirming that the relationship had ended and making her position clear to the public.
The announcement has attracted attention because of the couple’s journey, which had increasingly become public over the past year. Kiremi and Tdat reportedly started out as friends and creative collaborators before their relationship developed into a romantic one.
Their connection was also strengthened by their work in music, with the two collaborating on songs including Control.
The couple’s relationship became even more visible in 2026 after they announced that they were expecting a child together.
They shared a maternity shoot in June, with Kiremi dressed in a red Mother to Be gown as Tdat affectionately kissed her baby bump.
The couple later welcomed a baby boy in July, with their new arrival receiving warm messages from fans and fellow entertainers.
The breakup announcement therefore comes only weeks after the birth of their son, making the development particularly surprising to those who had followed their relationship.
Although their romantic relationship has ended, Kiremi and Tdat remain connected through the child they share. Their most recent musical collaboration, Sita Leave, has also attracted renewed attention from fans following the announcement.
So far, Timmy Tdat has not publicly responded to Kiremi’s statement. Fans are now waiting to see whether the rapper will address the breakup or provide his side of the story.
