Speaking during a church service on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Pastor Victor Kanyari opened up about the intense public pressure he has faced following the death of his wife, Bayo, particularly regarding expectations surrounding the custody of his children. The outspoken preacher revealed that criticism has followed him relentlessly, with even former critics now questioning his decision-making as a father.

Kanyari told congregants that social media users have mounted sustained pressure on him, urging him to immediately take full custody of his children, Sky and Danny. He described the scrutiny as nonstop, saying he has been “fighting battles 24 hours,” with voices from platforms such as TikTok and Facebook repeatedly challenging his parenting choices and demanding swift action.

Despite the backlash, Kanyari said he has deliberately chosen to remain calm rather than respond emotionally to public opinion. He clarified that while he has not yet made a final decision regarding formal custody arrangements, he continues to maintain a close and active relationship with his children. According to him, fatherhood is not defined by online declarations but by consistent presence and care.

He shared a recent personal moment to illustrate this point, recounting how his children called him to ask for new clothes. For Kanyari, the request was a reminder that beyond the public debate and media attention, his responsibilities as a father are ongoing and deeply personal. He stressed that he wants to provide for his children without turning their lives into a public spectacle.

Addressing criticism of his social media activity, particularly posts involving screenshots of past conversations with his late wife, Kanyari defended himself by saying the posts were meant to clarify his intentions and pre-empt misinformation, not to stir controversy.

Acknowledging his personal shortcomings, Kanyari remarked that while he may not have been a perfect husband, he believes he is a good father capable of giving his children a better life. As public debate continues, he maintained that he will not be rushed or bullied into decisions about his family, insisting that he will act in what he believes is the best interest of Sky and Danny, regardless of public pressure.
