First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has expressed her appreciation for President William Ruto, praising his efforts to serve Kenyans as his administration faces growing public expectations over the economy and the cost of living.
In her remarks, Rachel said her husband remained committed to working for the country, thanking God for his leadership.
“Bwanangu hachoki kufanyia Wakenya kazi, I thank GOD for RUTO,” she said.
Her message comes a day after President Ruto led the 63rd Mashujaa Day celebrations at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The national celebrations brought together government officials, invited guests and members of the public to honour Kenyans who have contributed to the country’s freedom and development.
During the event, Ruto defended his administration’s development agenda and challenged political opponents to present alternative policies instead of only criticising the government.
He also spoke about the need for leaders to focus on practical solutions to the challenges facing ordinary citizens.
The President’s remarks came amid public concerns about unemployment, taxation and the cost of living. These issues have continued to feature in national discussions, particularly among young people who want more job opportunities and better economic conditions.
Rachel’s statement adds to the public messages of support surrounding the President as political discussions intensify ahead of the 2027 General Election.
However, her praise does not remove the pressure on the government to demonstrate progress on the issues affecting households and businesses.
Kenyans will continue to watch how the administration handles economic challenges, creates employment opportunities and delivers on its development promises.
The coming months are likely to keep the government’s record in the spotlight as leaders prepare for the next election cycle.
