Bernice Saroni shared her disappointment regarding her sister Njoki’s recent experience at Nairobi West Hospital, where she went to deliver her baby. According to Bernice, Njoki entered the hospital in pain but was allegedly placed in a room that resembled a storage area.
After giving birth, Njoki called Bernice in distress, claiming that the nurses neglected her care. For example, the IV fluid had run out, and blood was reportedly flowing instead. Despite ringing the call bell for assistance, the nurses did not respond until Njoki’s husband went to find them. He discovered the nurses engaged in conversation and laughing, which upset him.
Following the delivery, Njoki became quite ill; she experienced vomiting and diarrhea and was unable to produce breast milk for her baby. Unfortunately, the nurses did not attend to her needs during this difficult time.
Bernice emphasized that while Nairobi West Hospital has been promoted on social media, her sister was left begging for the quality care that should be expected in such a facility.
