Kenyan TikToker Kawira has alleged that she was physically attacked by her landlord in a shocking incident at her home in Kamulu.
The popular content creator went live on TikTok with a visibly swollen face and lips, recounting what she described as a humiliating and violent confrontation.
According to Kawira, the disagreement began after she informed her landlord in advance that she planned to move out due to persistent water shortages.
She claimed they had already agreed on how her rent balance would cover minor damages and that she had fully paid for the current month. She also said she was still owed a KSh 25,000 deposit.
However, when she returned home, she allegedly found the landlord throwing her belongings outside. “Some items were broken,” she told viewers. “When I questioned him, he punched me in the face and even lifted my clothes in front of my children.”
Kawira said the landlord justified his actions by claiming she had failed to vacate the property by 1 p.m., as she had initially indicated. She explained that she was still waiting for movers and intended to leave later that evening.
The content creator reported the matter to the police and displayed an envelope containing documents she said would help her pursue legal action after receiving medical attention. As of now, she has not yet moved out. The incident has sparked outrage online, with many TikTok users and fellow creators sending messages of support.
While some believe there may be more to the story, most agree that physical assault is unacceptable under any circumstances. Kawira maintains she will proceed with the legal process to seek justice for herself and ensure the safety of her children.
