Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, his wife Margaret Kenyatta and his mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, were spotted attending a private wedding ceremony in Kenya, giving guests an unexpected sighting of the prominent family.
Footage from the celebration was shared on TikTok, showing different moments from the wedding. The video captured the church ceremony before moving to the reception, which was held inside an outdoor tent decorated with white drapes, flowers and formal table settings.
Uhuru appeared to be enjoying the occasion as he joined other guests on the dance floor. The former president was captured moving to the music during the reception, looking relaxed as those around him celebrated with the newly married couple.
Margaret was also seen at the event, while Mama Ngina appeared among the guests. Their presence made the occasion particularly notable, given the family’s prominence in Kenya and the relatively limited number of candid videos showing them together at private gatherings.
The celebration featured a Swahili love song, adding to the mood as relatives and friends joined the newlyweds. The footage showed guests enjoying the reception as the wedding continued under the decorated tent.
Uhuru served as Kenya’s fourth president from 2013 to 2022. Since leaving State House, he has generally kept a lower profile than during his years in office, although he continues to make occasional public appearances.
Mama Ngina, the widow of Kenya’s first president, Jomo Kenyatta, has also maintained a quieter presence in public life. Her appearance at the wedding alongside her son and daughter in law therefore caught the interest of people who came across the video.
The TikTok footage gave viewers a glimpse of the former first family in a relaxed setting, away from the political events and official engagements that often accompanied Uhuru’s years as president. The dancing moment in particular became one of the most noticeable parts of the celebration shared online.
