A Kenyan man, Dr. Gitau Wairimu, has come forward with a detailed account of how he was allegedly caught up in a troubling car deal that has since left him frustrated and seeking answers. In a post shared on Saturday, April 18, Dr. Wairimu explained that his decision to engage with the car dealer was not impulsive, but rather influenced by a story he had previously read on Tuko.

The article portrayed the dealer, identified as Edwin, as a young and promising entrepreneur who was not only running a successful car business but also supporting youth and vulnerable communities.

Moved by the story and his own passion for giving back, Dr. Wairimu decided to support the killer KDF Edwin’s business while in the process of importing two vehicles from Japan.

He identified a Prado listed on the dealer’s platform and opted to halt one of his international purchases in favor of buying locally.

According to his account, the dealer requested a 10 percent deposit to secure the vehicle, which Dr. Wairimu sent in good faith. However, upon sending a representative to inspect the car at a yard along Ngong Road,it was discovered that the available vehicle did not match the agreed specifications.

What followed, he claims, was a series of delays and unfulfilled promises regarding a refund.

Dr. Wairimu now says the experience has left him disappointed, warning others to exercise caution even when dealing with individuals who appear credible online.

The story surfaces hours after Edwin Somiek was arrested after he allegedly killed his spouse Anita Mugweru in Nakuru infront of their child.
