Farouk Kibet

A tense moment played out during the funeral of Raila Odinga’s longtime aide in Siaya, where former presidential candidate George Wajackoyah delivered a fiery message directed at President William Ruto.

Wajackoyah, known for his fearless and unfiltered style, demanded that the President cut ties with his personal aide, Farouk Kibet.

He argued that the President must act on growing public frustration, where Farouk is widely viewed as a gatekeeper who controls access to the Head of State.

The perception that Farouk operates with the powers of a “co-president” has long existed in the public domain, and Wajackoyah insisted it’s time for the President to take action.

In his hard-hitting remarks, Wajackoyah said he would not step into State House or share a cup of tea with the President until Farouk is sent home.

He also criticized the government’s recent treatment of Butere Girls High School students, who were blocked from performing despite being prepared and present.

Wajackoyah called out the humiliation faced by the students, stating that the President must personally reach out to the school, host the girls at State House, and give them the performance opportunity they were denied.

He noted that such incidents are fueling resentment among the youth.

The former presidential hopeful further addressed the state of devolution, pointing to the delayed release of county funds.

He blamed the lack of timely capitation for weakening service delivery at the grassroots and called on the President to act with urgency.

Wajackoyah’s bold remarks were delivered face-to-face with the President, capturing the mood of a nation frustrated by poor governance, mismanagement, and rising inequality.
