The murder of Salome Eleojo Adaidu, allegedly at the hands of gospel singer Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, has taken another turn after her real boyfriend, Maxwell Ajah, revealed details of their relationship and their last conversations before her tragic death.
Maxwell, who claims to have been dating Salome since 2018, spoke in an emotional interview with her sister, Patience Adaidu Unekwuojo. He recounted the last moments he spent with Salome and expressed his disbelief at the circumstances surrounding her death.
“I last saw her on Thursday when she left my house. We had plans to meet again on Saturday, but she said she couldn’t because she had church the next day,” Maxwell shared. He recalled that during their last phone call, Salome sounded uncharacteristically distant, raising his suspicions.
“She told me I didn’t miss her, and when I called back, she sounded like she was in a hurry to end the conversation. My spirit was unsettled,” he said.
Maxwell displayed screenshots of their final WhatsApp chats, where Salome mentioned accidentally turning on her data and waking up to use the bathroom. “This wasn’t how she normally chatted with me. She was hurried and said goodnight abruptly,” he explained.
Salome had promised to cook for Maxwell on Sunday, but by then, she was unreachable. Her remains were later found with the gospel singer, who allegedly admitted to the gruesome act.
Maxwell described Salome as a peaceful and trusting person who never gave him reasons to suspect infidelity. “She was not materialistic, and she didn’t deserve this. I demand justice for her,” he said.
The revelation of these chats has further complicated the case, with the public questioning the singer’s motives. Meanwhile, legal experts argue that despite the singer’s confession, the prosecution must establish substantial evidence to secure a conviction.
As investigations continue, Salome’s family and friends remain hopeful that justice will prevail, bringing closure to the tragic loss of a young life.
