Popular Kenyan comedian and content creator, Mulamwah, has revealed that he faced rejection from the church during one of the most challenging times of his life—when he was battling depression. In a candid social media post, the entertainer shared his emotional journey, highlighting the painful period when he felt abandoned by his faith community.

Mulamwah, whose real name is David Oyando, has always been open about the mental health struggles he faced, especially after his highly publicized breakup with ex-girlfriend Carrol Sonnie. The split, which followed a turbulent period in his personal life, left him grappling with emotional distress. As he sought solace in faith, he was surprised by the cold reception he received from the church.

“I thought the church would be my refuge, a place where I could heal and find peace,” Mulamwah shared. “But instead, I felt rejected. It was as if my struggles and pain were too much for them to handle.” This rejection, according to Mulamwah, compounded his feelings of isolation, making his depression even harder to navigate.

Despite the setback, the comedian has found strength in his own journey of self-healing. He emphasizes the importance of mental health awareness and encourages people, especially men, to speak up about their struggles. “Mental health should not be stigmatized. We need to break the silence and support each other, no matter what,” Mulamwah stressed.

Through his experience, Mulamwah is now advocating for greater understanding and compassion in the church and society. He hopes his story will inspire others who may be facing similar challenges to seek help, whether it be through therapy, support groups, or even faith-based counseling. His message is clear: no one should feel abandoned or rejected during their darkest moments.
