Grief engulfed Kanga High School in Migori County after a Form Four student mysteriously collapsed and died.
The student was attending a lesson when the tragedy struck. He was rushed to Rongo Sub County Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Sub-county education director said that the boy had not been suffering from any medical complications and that a postmortem examination was being awaited to reveal the cause of death.
Confirming the incident, area police boss said they are yet to know from the candidate’s family if he was suffering from any health condition which could have caused his demise.
The police chief said the candidate reportedly did not exhibit any signs of ill-health prior to his death. Police have launched a probe into the incident.
The student’s parents described him as a hard working boy who loved books and always read when he was home during recess. The family asked security agencies to leave no stone unturned as they investigate.
