Nigerian singer and activist, 2Face real name Innocent Idiaba came together with Nigerians from all walks of life to mourn and march against violent killing accross the country with the victims families in tow.According to Amnesty International, 549 deaths were recorded across 14 states, while thousands were displaced in Nigeria in 2017. Vanguard put the total record of deaths at 1,351 as of March 2018 .
Other major key players such as Civil society groups, human rights activists were also in attendance. With the likes of former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili and human rights lawyer, Chidi Odinkalu.The mourners as well as 2Baba were clad in black some in shirts with the inscription #OneDeathTooMany.

While addressing the crowd, 2face encouraged everyone not to keep quiet on the issue of violent killings in the country.
He said: “We must talk about the issue, we must address this issue. We must try to be on the right side of consciousness. Anyhow e be we no go keep quiet, we must talk about it and hold our leaders accountable cos na emergency situation we Dey,”.
2Face Idiaba and Nigeria Mourns victims with their families as they march against KillingThe peaceful walk was organised by Civil Society Joint Nigeria Crisis Action Committee (JN-CAC) to honour and mourn those who have been killed in recent times in the country.
The organiser had earlier urged Nigerians to dedicate May 28, 2018, as a national day for mourning all those who lost their lives due to violent killings.
Chidi Odinkalu, connvener of the programe lamented that killer herders were controlling territories in the middle belt while kidnappers and cultists had taken over the south-east and south-south.
“The government is losing territory to armed bandits who are killing Nigerians and the same government who should lead us against this things are now the one dividing Nigerians,” he said.
“We are now in a country where the human life is meaningless and in which Nigerians are being divided across ethnic and sectarian boundaries when people die.

“And we want to call attention to the need to return our country to what matters; a sheer humanity and citizenship and that is the only way you can run a united democratic republic. If you don’t have citizens and you don’t honour human life, you cannot have a country.”
Last week, Catholics in Nigeria also participated on nationwide protest calling for an end to a spiral of violence attack after two priests and 17 worshippers were buried nearly a month after an attack on their church.
