News from various media outlets reveal that popular reggae MC and media personality Jahmby Koikai has rested after a long battle with endometriosis.
She is reported to have died at a hospital in Nairobi where she was undergoing treatment.
Details have emerged that she wrote a plea message to president William Ruto two weeks ago urging the president to fast track development in the health sector.
She wrote the message on May 20, when the president was headed for his state visit to the United States.
“This is a sincere and heartfelt call of help to a few Kenyan leaders but allow me to address this to President William Ruto first as he makes his state visit to the US. Mr. President, one of the thematic areas in your visit is investment in health,” she wrote.
President William Ruto’s state visit started in Georgia where he had several meetings and signed deals spanning various sectors and ended in Washington DC where he met president Joe Biden for other engagements.
Koikai in her message to president Ruto said the state of Georgia had taken steps in safeguarding the health of those battling endometriosis just like her.
“Atlanta, Georgia is a dream city for every young girl and woman who has ever battled this horrific disease called Endometriosis. Therein lies a centre dedicated to restoring the lives of young girls and women who are crippled by this disease. The @centerforendocare,” she explained.
The media personality explained her sad journey with the disease which took 17 years before she could be diagnosed. She added that the late diagnosis led her body parts such as teeth, heart, appendix to collapse.
She pleaded with the president to make visits to the Endometriosis care in Atlanta, Georgia to learn more about the disease.
“As you commence your State visit tomorrow to the US, I’d like to kindly add a few visits that would help the millions of Kenyan women battling in silence. Please pay The Center for Endometriosis Care and the Northside Hospital Women’s unit and the directorship of Dr. Ken Sinervo, Dr. John Gouldman, the multi-disciplinary unit that helps to treat women from all over the world,” she wrote.
