Orange Democratic Movement party has responded to Wiper leaders after they demanded that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga should endorse Kalonzo Musyoka to run for president in the upcoming 2027 general election.
Through its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, the ODM has insisted that it is not ready to sit down and engage in matters of 2027 at the moment. Sifuna said that it is very early to speak about 2027 because the country just concluded the 2022 general elections recently.
He further added that the main focus of ODM at the moment is to keep President Ruto’s administration in check and to fight for the rights and welfare of Kenyans.
This comes after Kalonzo Musyoka’s allies pressured the Azimio la Umoja leader to declare his support for Kalonzo Musyoka early so that he can start preparing to face President Ruto on the ballot come 2027.
They have also vowed not to support the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga for the fourth time in a row. They have urged him to reciprocate the favor to the Wiper leader as he promised earlier.
All attention will now focus on Raila Odinga to see if he will throw his weight behind Kalonzo Musyoka or if he will again run for presidency for the sixth time
