a high Court in Nairobi has thrown out a lawsuit by the Luo community to secede Kisumu from Kenya.

According to the reports by a credible source, Justice Mugambi threw out the case on the grounds of failing to follow the legal procedures.

The petitioner, Mr. Ojijo, had filed a case seeking to secede from Kisumu city from Kenya citing a lack of respect for the city by the current and the previous administrations.

Mr. Ojijo collected the signatures of about 10,000 residents of Kisumu who bought the idea and offered their identification details and signatures to be used to secede Kisumu from Kenya.

According to Justice Mugambi, Mr. Ojijo’s petition was more of a plaint rather than a constitutional petition.

Justice Mugambi advised Mr. Ojijo to adhere to the constitution in the future if such an idea cross his mind once more.

Mr. Ojijo said that Kisumu should separate itself from Kenya and produce its President and govern itself without further depending on any support or directives from Kenya’s President.

According to the reports, Mr. Ojijo said that he is willing to make himself the presidential candidate for Kisumu County when it secede from Kenya.

Mr. Ojijo said that he qualify to hold the presidency of Kisumu because he is a Luo by birth and Kisumu needs to chant its path in governing itself.

He claimed that the government has repeatedly, and consistently applied excessive force on Luos during demonstrations.

Further, the Petitioner stated that the State has also used the law and media to paint Luos as evil, against development, and violent.
