Nairobi Governor H.E Sakaja Johnson, among other 12 visionary young African leaders, has received international recognition for their exemplary and magnificent leadership, in quest to streamline innovative solutions to pressing challenges globally.

Nairobi boss joins 2023, under 40 year-old, Young Global Leaders (YGL) cohort to establish an accelerated gear to vouch for positive global changes and steward lifetime solutions to bottlenecking challenges facing communities.

Acknowledging the nomination, elated Sakaja stated that joining the 2023 YGL forum will positively impact him and add bonga points to his political career.

“I’m excited to join class of Young Global Leaders (YGL). I look forward to learning from a community of peers and the opportunity to have a greater impact both personally and professionally. This year’s cohort brings together leaders who are change-makers in both private and public sectors” said Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja.

Sakaja’s recognition follows his outstanding service during his tenure as vice chairperson of the committee on National Security, Defense and Foreign Relations.

“We are aligned with the world economic forum’s mission, we seek to drive public-private co-operation in the global public interest. We are united by the belief that today’s pressing problems present an opportunity to build a better future across sectors and boundaries” read the statement.

Among other youthful vibrant leaders recognised include: Peace Hyde, Kow Abaka Essuman, Gregory Rockson of Ghana, Oluseun Onigbinde, Uche Pedro and Tokini Peterside-Schwebig of Nigeria, Vukosi Marivate of South Africa, Roselyne Chambrier of Cote D’Ivoire, Walter Pacheco of Angola and Aissata Lam of Mauritania.
