President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua today visited Kirinyaga County for the official commissioning of the Thiba Dam in Gichugu.
Ruto highlighted key issues with his spending cuts. He rejected the possibility of returning the subsidy to the price of maize flour, explaining that the fertilizer subsidy was the best solution.
On the other hand, addressing the gathering, Gachagua praised the role of the opposition in checking the government. He explained that Raila is a good leader who can save the country from the alarming economy by keeping the government in check.
Consequently, the deputy president blamed Raila for food prices, which allowed corruption under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government when he was the opposition leader. They must prevent such activities.
“If you can do your part in understanding Uhuru’s government, we will not be here now. Now you are complaining and you are the one who abandoned your project and allowed corruption to happen,” said DP President Gachagua.
The ODM leader earlier this week assured Kenyans that he will continue his fight for a better country. He called on the government to fulfil its promises to Kenyans.
Raila recently made 2 public appearances with Kenyans. He first met the residents when he attended Bunge la Wananchi. He then met Boda Boda riders in Mathare, Nairobi County.
