Eric Omondi isn’t done with trying to promote and defend Kenyan music.
The comedian went on a rant yesterday on his Instagram page after ‘revealing’ that the December 31st organisers of Konshen’s show had reneged on a previous agreement the two had made.
In his video, Eric complained that he had become aware of the fact that organisers of the end year show would let Konshens perform as the last act.
This according to Eric went against the agreement he had had with them where he said that Sauti Sol was the one supposed to have that honour.
“We had agreed that Benzema would start, then Fena Gitu. Then we would go to Khaligraph Jones, then Konshens, and finish with Sauti Sol. But the organisers changed it that Konshens would be the final act,” the funnyman said.
What is interesting is that Bien Aime, one of the members of Sauti Sol wasn’t having it and angrily told Eric that nobody cared about his cause.
The lanky singer wrote, “Nobody gives a shit about your pettiness. You’re losing yourself in this bullshit.”
Funny thing is that most Kenyans took Bien’s side and asked Eric why he was so concerned about musicians while they themselves were not fussing?
Those who know Eric know that he will not drop his crusade even if it seems like it is a losing cause. That of course is based on the continued clout he will keep receiving as he bangs the drums on this ‘issue’.
