Kenyan content creator Mbavu Destroyer has sparked widespread reactions on social media after videos showing him sharing cosy moments with environmentalist and world record holder Truphena Muthoni emerged online. The videos have attracted considerable attention, particularly after his alleged girlfriend, Keliah, appeared to react to the footage during a livestream.
The controversy unfolded during a livestream in which Keliah was asked about Mbavu. Appearing uncomfortable with the questions, she responded by showing a video of the content creator embracing Truphena in a swimming pool.
In the footage, Mbavu is seen shirtless while enjoying time in the pool. He then calls Truphena over for a hug, and she responds by laughing before embracing him. Mbavu accompanied the clip with a playful caption referencing Truphena’s world record for the longest tree hug. He jokingly suggested that she was preparing to break another record by hugging a living stone.
The situation attracted even more attention when Keliah shared another video featuring Mbavu and Truphena aboard a plane. In the clip, Mbavu uses a romantic song alongside a caption suggesting that he wanted to get to know the environmentalist better.
The second video appeared to intensify the discussion during the livestream, with the young man accompanying Keliah seemingly left momentarily speechless after watching the footage.
Truphena Muthoni rose to prominence after achieving international recognition for her remarkable tree-hugging endurance record, an achievement that highlighted her commitment to environmental conservation and awareness.
Following the emergence of the videos, Kenyans took to social media to share mixed reactions. While some questioned the nature of the relationship between Mbavu and Truphena, others called on the content creator to clarify the situation.
However, the videos and reactions circulating online do not independently confirm whether the two are romantically involved. Neither Mbavu nor Truphena has publicly established that they are in a relationship.
For now, the incident continues to generate conversations online as social media users await further clarification from those involved.
