For years, Samidoh has been known for his music, entertaining fans with Mugithi songs and building a name beyond Kenya. Now, the singer is taking another step that signals how seriously he is pursuing his political ambitions.
Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, has launched a dedicated social media page for his political journey as he prepares to contest the Ol Joro Orok parliamentary seat in Nyandarua County in the 2027 General Election.
In a message shared on Monday, October 12, 2026, the musician invited supporters to follow the new page, named Samidoh Muchoki OljoroOrok MP. He said it would provide updates about his leadership ambitions, political activities and plans for the constituency.
His announcement carried a message that suggested his ambitions extend beyond the entertainment industry.
“Beyond the guitar and the stage, there is a greater journey ahead,” he said.
The move follows his declaration in August that he intended to seek the Ol Joro Orok parliamentary seat. Samidoh described the constituency as home and said his decision was influenced by his experiences growing up there and his desire to participate directly in decision-making.
He has also insisted that he is not seeking the position simply because he is a popular musician. Instead, he has pointed to his understanding of the challenges facing ordinary residents and his desire to help address them through public leadership.
Education, vocational training, talent development and economic opportunities for young people are among the issues he has highlighted as part of his proposed agenda.
For Samidoh, the new page offers a dedicated platform through which supporters can follow his political activities separately from his music career.
However, launching a campaign page is only one step in a longer political journey. He will still need to communicate his plans clearly, engage residents and present his proposals for the constituency as the 2027 election approaches.
The coming months will provide a clearer picture of how he develops his campaign and turns his public statements into a detailed programme for Ol Joro Orok.
