Benedict Nyambeki Samwel, a Form Three student at St. Clare Suguta Girls Secondary School, was laid to rest on Friday in Nyabiosi, following what investigators and locals say was an ordeal of alleged murder.
Samwel’s body was reportedly found after being missing, with her remains allegedly dumped in a sugarcane plantation near the Etago stage in South Mugirango.
The late student’s death has sent shockwaves through her school and the surrounding community, where sadness has been mixed with anger and calls for justice.
According to close sources, the familyfamily was thrown into disbelief after Benedict failed to return home.
Her relatives said she had gone out on an rrand sent to shop before she disappeared that night and never came back.
It later emerged that her disappearance was only followed by the discovery of her body on September 3, 2026.
By then, the family had searched frantically, hoping for her safe return, but the situation took a painful turn when authorities and community members reportedly located the body in the nearby plantation area.
At the burial service, the mood remained tense and heavily emotional throughout the proceedings. Students from Suguta Girls secondary school gathered to pay their last respects to their classmate, with many breaking down openly.
