The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has retained the current pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene for the next one month.
The new prices will take effect from Tuesday, September 15, and remain in place until October 14, 2026. The announcement was made on Monday, September 14, giving motorists clarity ahead of the new pricing cycle.
In Nairobi, Super Petrol will continue selling at a maximum price of KSh214.03 per litre. Diesel will remain at KSh217.86, while Kerosene will retail at KSh191.38 per litre.
The decision comes despite notable changes in the cost of imported petroleum products. The landed cost of Super Petrol fell by 7.87% in August, while the costs of Diesel and Kerosene increased by 11.86% and 9.71%, respectively.
Many Kenyans had been waiting to see whether the changes in international fuel costs would translate into lower or higher prices at local petrol stations. However, EPRA opted to maintain the existing rates for the September-October period.
The decision means motorists, public transport operators and businesses will continue working with the same fuel costs for the next 30 days. Fuel prices remain an important issue for households because changes at the pump can affect transport fares and the prices of goods and services.
The latest announcement also comes at a time when Kenyans are closely watching the cost of living. Any significant increase in fuel prices could put additional pressure on families and businesses already dealing with high operating costs.
For now, motorists will not have to adjust to new pump prices. EPRA will continue monitoring developments in the international petroleum market before the next monthly review.
The unchanged prices therefore provide some stability as Kenyans enter the new fuel pricing period, even as global oil markets remain uncertain.
