A married couple, both serving in school leadership roles, have died after a horrific road accident along the Njoro–Mauche Road.

David Kimetto Kiprop, headteacher of Saramek Comprehensive School, and his wife, Angeline Kaibos Kiprop, deputy headteacher at Utalii Comprehensive School, were fatally injured in the crash on July 29, 2026. Neither survived their injuries.

David hailed from Saos, Lembus Perkerra, in Eldama Ravine, while Angeline was originally from Loboi in Baringo South.

Together, the couple built careers centred on shaping young lives in the county, with David leading Saramek Comprehensive School and Angeline holding a senior leadership post at Utalii Comprehensive School.

Their simultaneous death has sent shockwaves through the education sector and the wider Baringo community.

Colleagues, family members and residents have been left struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.

Both were widely regarded as committed and compassionate professionals who left a visible mark on their schools and students.

The couple is set to be buried on Saturday, August 8, in an emotional ceremony at their village.

The Njoro–Mauche Road, which cuts through the Rift Valley region, has previously been the scene of fatal accidents.

Residents say the latest tragedy serves as a painful reminder of the dangers road users face along that stretch.

David Kimetto Kiprop and Angeline Kaibos Kiprop are being remembered not only as educators, but as pillars of their respective communities.

Tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues and former students as news of their deaths spread across the county.
