Kenyan actress Jackie Matubia has found herself at the center of a public disagreement with her former nanny, Brigid Nanjala, who worked for her family for five years.
The issue began after Jackie shared on social media that Brigid had left her job without informing her. Jackie said they had already talked about her retirement benefits and expressed disappointment that the nanny left without notice. She also praised Brigid for the important role she had played in helping raise her children and supporting the family during difficult times.
Brigid later responded with a different version of events. She claimed that Jackie had actually asked her to leave because she wanted to hire another nanny. According to Brigid, she decided to leave before the situation became worse.
Brigid also shared some painful experiences from the years she worked for the actress. She said that during a family trip to Mauritius, she was emotionally hurt and spent time crying. She claimed that despite how she felt, Jackie still asked her to smile whenever they were recording videos for social media.
The former nanny also spoke about the breakup between Jackie and actor Blessing Lung’aho. She alleged that after the relationship ended, Jackie packed Blessing’s clothes into a plastic bag and sent him away. Brigid said she feared the same kind of treatment could eventually happen to her, so she chose to leave before it reached that point.
Brigid insisted that she had cared for Jackie’s children with love and honesty throughout the five years she worked for the family. The claims have attracted mixed reactions from the public.
