A family in Kenya has been thrown into mourning following the death of a young Kenyan woman who had been fighting for her life in a hospital in Saudi Arabia after developing serious health complications while working as a domestic worker.

The deceased, identified as Ann Shikuku, had travelled to Saudi Arabia approximately three months ago in search of employment opportunities.

Like many young Kenyans seeking greener pastures abroad, Ann reportedly left the country with hopes of improving her life and supporting her family back home.

However, her dreams were cut short after she suddenly fell ill while working in the Gulf nation.

Reports indicate that her condition deteriorated rapidly, forcing those around her to rush her to a hospital for specialized treatment.

Despite receiving medical care, Ann’s health continued to worsen. Family members, friends, and fellow Kenyans living in Saudi Arabia closely followed her condition, hoping for positive news. Sadly, she passed away while undergoing treatment, leaving her loved ones devastated.

One of the most painful aspects of the case is that the exact nature of her illness remains unclear.

According to reports, Kenyans residing in Saudi Arabia who visited her during her hospitalization described her condition as critical and worrying.

They revealed that efforts to obtain detailed information about her diagnosis were unsuccessful due to communication challenges and limited information from medical personnel.

As news of her death spread, messages of condolence poured in from Kenyans both at home and abroad.

Many expressed sorrow over the loss of a young woman who had travelled thousands of kilometers away from home in search of a better future.

The tragedy has also reignited concerns about the welfare of Kenyan migrant workers in Gulf countries.

Over the years, several cases involving Kenyan workers who have died, fallen ill, or faced difficult conditions while working abroad have attracted public attention and sparked debate about the protection of migrant workers
