Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has made a bold move amid the ongoing demonstrations in the country over the high cost of fuel.
The former Head of State has decided to postpone his meeting with the Jubilee Party delegates in order to stand in solidarity with Kenyans who are protesting against high cost of fuel.
The move by the former President comes at a time Kenyans have been up in arms against President William Ruto’s administration over the skyrocketing fuel prices.
On Monday, public transport operators grounded the sector to a halt after withdrawing their vehicles from the road.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has been forced to speak over the public transport breakdown, saying that they hold the meeting to unlock the impasse.
Amid all this, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi seems to have dashed the hopes of Kenyans hoping for fuel price review, blaming external factors for the increase in the prices.
According to Mbadi, the ongoing USA and Iran war is to blame for the high fuel prices.
