Nayianoi Ntutu Ngeno, the widow of the late Johana Ngeno, on Tuesday, evening, made a notable visit to Kaplong Mission Hospital where several individuals injured during recent campaign activities in Emurua Dikirr are receiving treatment.She arrived at the facility in sleek G-Wagon, attracting the attention of passersby and hospital personnel.

Yet, she quickly shifted her focus to the situation at hand, making her way to check on the victims of the accident that took place amid political activities.

Within the hospital wards, Nayianoi engaged with the injured, offering them comforting words and encouragement as they continued their recovery process.

Some victims had suffered serious injuries during the incident, which overshadowed the campaign activities in the area.

Family members of the injured expressed gratitude for her visit, noting that it provided them with reassurance, support during this challenging time.

Hospital staff also recognized the significance of such gestures, stating that they uplift the morale of the patients.During her brief remarks on the visit, Nayianoi highlighted the importance of ensuring safety during political campaigns, encouraging both organizers and supporters to implement necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Ms. Nayianoi, who received family endorsement two weeks prior, was regarded as one of the leading candidates.

Her decision to withdraw led to significant shifts among the principal supporters of the late MP.

The by-election is set for May 14 and will take place at 94 polling stations throughout the constituency.

This election was prompted by the tragic helicopter crash on February 28 that resulted in the deaths of MP Johana Ng’eno and five others.
