Bernard Ngeno, the late Johana Ngeno’s former personal assistant, has shared images of his SUV, which was vandalised during the UDA by-election nomination exercises in Emurua Dikirr.The incident occurred amid chaotic scenes at several polling stations on Friday, March 27, marked by reports of bribery, repeat voting, and proxy voting.
In a post on Saturday, March 28, Ngeno reassured the public about his safety, writing to the people of Emurua Dikirr and the nation that he remained unharmed despite the challenges faced.
He expressed concern for those injured while attempting to access the tallying center and called on friends and supporters to assist patients affected during the final campaign rally.
The UDA primaries concluded with David Kipsang Keter winning the party’s parliamentary ticket after securing 13,759 votes, narrowly defeating Bernard Kipkoech Ngeno, who garnered 13,394 votes in a tightly contested race.
Known popularly as Buluu, Bernard Ngeno is a young leader from Emurua Dikirr in Narok County.
His political journey began as the personal assistant to the late Johana Ngeno, who served three terms as the constituency’s MP before his untimely death in a helicopter crash in Nandi County.Through this role, Ngeno gained firsthand experience in constituency management, community engagement, and local governance, establishing himself as a key figure in the area.
After taking time to mourn his former boss, Ngeno gradually stepped forward, building influence and support in the constituency.
His active involvement in local issues and familiarity with residents’ needs positioned him as a significant contender in the recent UDA nomination, highlighting his growing prominence in Emurua Dikirr politics.
