Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru celebrated a major family milestone on Saturday, August 29, as her eldest son, Njuguna Waiguru, married Joanne Rodriguez in a lavish white wedding held in Naivasha.
The colourful ceremony brought together family members, friends and several high-profile guests, creating a memorable celebration filled with elegant fashion and carefully designed décor.
Joanne attracted attention in an off-shoulder lace wedding gown featuring delicate beadwork. The fitted design gave the bride a graceful and sophisticated appearance as she walked down the aisle.
Njuguna complemented the occasion with a cream tuxedo jacket, tailored trousers and brown loafers, presenting a polished look for the formal celebration.
Guests also embraced the occasion’s glamorous theme, with women wearing a variety of stylish dresses and men appearing in suits and other formal outfits.
Governor Waiguru joined relatives and friends in celebrating the union, while President William Ruto attended the wedding as the chief guest. Several governors, Members of Parliament and other notable personalities were also present.
The outdoor garden venue was decorated in maroon, burgundy and green, creating an elegant setting for the ceremony and reception.
Following the wedding, Waiguru shared an emotional congratulatory message to the newlyweds on social media.
“My heart is full. Congratulations, Joanne and Ian, on your wedding! Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless happiness together. Mum,” she wrote.
The white wedding marked another important chapter in the couple’s relationship, following their engagement and traditional wedding celebrations.
For the Waiguru family, the occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate love, family and the beginning of a new journey for Njuguna and Joanne.
