DCP’s Secretary for Planning and Economic Affairs, Dr. Peter Mbae, has said that the main petition challenging MP Leo Wamuthende’s win by Newton Kariuki Ndwiga (Karish) is very active in court.
According to reports, the Embu High Court struck out an election petition challenging the victory of Mbeere North member of parliament Leo Wamuthende, ordering him to pay Ksh 800,000.
According to reports, the said petitioners failed to pay the court ahead of the hearing.
DCP’s Secretary for Planning and Economic Affairs, Dr. Peter Mbae, who took to social media platforms to speak on this, said that Karish’s petition is still active.
“The fact is several petitions challenging the outcome of the by-election were filed. This is one such that was struck out for failure to deposit security,” Dr. Peter Mbae said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy President of Kenya, His Excellency Kithure Kindiki, has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for allegedly disrespecting President William Ruto’s administration.
The Deputy President said that the former Deputy President of Kenya has no moral authority to criticize the current administration.
According to Kindiki, Rigathi Gachagua was fired as DO for stealing food.
