Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Hon. Timothy Kilonzo, fondly known as “Mayor,” at Kitulu Village in Muvuti, Machakos County, following his untimely death.Hon. Kilonzo was a seasoned public servant who made history as last Mayor of Machakos Municipality before introduction of county governments.

He was widely respected across the county for his calm leadership style and deep commitment to public service. Until his passing, he served as the Chairman of the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party in Machakos County.

During the visit, CS Mutua described the late Kilonzo as a humble and principled leader whose contribution to the growth and stability of Machakos would be remembered for generations.

He noted that Kilonzo remained a strong voice in community affairs even after leaving elective office, earning admiration across political divides.

The CS, was accompanied by Machakos Town Member of Parliament Hon. Caleb Mule, Members of the County Assembly Francis Ngunga and Douglas Muema, as well as other local leaders.

Together, they offered words of comfort, solidarity to the bereaved family during difficult moment of loss.Leaders present praised Kilonzo’s dedication to development and his unwavering service to the people, saying his death had left a significant gap in local leadership.

Residents recalled him as approachable, wise and deeply invested in the welfare of ordinary citizens.

CS Mutua urged the family to remain strong and assured them of continued support from leaders and the wider community.

He also called on residents to honour Kilonzo’s legacy by upholding unity, service and peace.
