Homabay Town Member of Parliament, Peter Kaluma, has publicly congratulated President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on his recent re-election in Uganda, praising the Ugandan electorate for their decision.
In a statement posted on his official X account, Kaluma expressed his admiration for the continuity of leadership, describing Museveni’s victory as a win for the people of Uganda and the nation’s achievements.
“Congratulations President Kaguta Museveni on your re-election to serve the people of Uganda as their President,” Kaluma wrote.
He further acknowledged the role of Ugandan citizens in safeguarding the country’s progress, noting that their decision prevented what he described as a potentially destabilizing shift in leadership.
“Thank you to the people of Uganda for refusing to replace your great leader with a popstar – protecting the gains!” he added.
Kaluma’s comments highlight his support for established leadership and political stability in the East African region.
Analysts suggest that such statements from Kenyan leaders underscore the importance of strong regional partnerships and mutual respect among East African states.
By commending Ugandan voters, Kaluma not only recognizes Museveni’s continued leadership but also signals Kenya’s interest in maintaining stable and cooperative relations with its neighbor.
