Shock and heartbreak have engulfed a Kirinyaga County family after a woman discovered that her husband was involved in an inappropriate affair with their eldest child. The incident has left lasting emotional scars and dismantled the family unit.
The woman, a mother of four, had previously endured domestic abuse while living with her husband in Tanzania. In an effort to protect herself and her children, she escaped to Kenya. After repeated apologies and assurances of change, the man later traced her and persuaded her to give the marriage another chance. They eventually moved to Nairobi, where he worked as a motorcycle rider and she earned income by doing laundry to support the family.
As time passed, conflict became a constant presence in the home. The eldest daughter began to challenge authority, and the father consistently defended her, undermining the mother’s role. This alliance deepened tensions and further weakened the marriage.
The situation took a devastating turn when the mother arrived home unannounced and found her husband in a compromising state with their daughter. She sought intervention from the landlord, but the man bluntly stated that he would rather live with the daughter. The outcome was harsh: the pregnant mother was expelled from the home with her two younger children, while the eldest remained behind.
She later resettled in Naivasha, focused on rebuilding her life. Although she has chosen forgiveness, she keeps her distance from the daughter to protect the younger children. Her current goal is to establish a small business and secure support to provide a stable future for her family.
