New details have emerged about the shocking murder of Nairobi deliveryman Anthony Olwal who was killed while delivering an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Charity had unknowingly grabbed the brown suitcase belonging to the suspects. She had not been fully paid for her rental and in a rush grabbed the suitcase as they fled.

Unknown to her the iPhone 17 Pro Max that Olwal had been delivering was inside. The quick action of Charity ensured that the phone was recovered and did not fall into the hands of the suspects.

Police and investigators have confirmed that the phone was intact. This has raised questions about the motive behind the murder, as the suspects did not take the valuable device.

Many Kenyans online have speculated that the attack was personal, rather than a robbery. Some suggest Olwal may have witnessed something he should not have leading to his tragic death

Investigators say the suspects left behind the expensive phone which was later saved by the Airbnb owner preventing it from being stolen.

According to reports three men allegedly attacked Olwal inside the short-stay apartment.

CCTV footage shows one suspect, wearing a mask leaving the room first followed by the second.

The third suspect exited moments later, carrying what is believed to be the murder weapon. All three met the Airbnb landlady, Charity, just outside the building.

Olwal’s family has expressed deep sorrow. His brother, Isaiah Ochieng, shared screenshots of WhatsApp chats with the client showing that Anthony left the shop around 10:30 AM and was found dead hours later.

His wife also shared their last phone conversation, in which Anthony promised to call back after completing the delivery.

Public reaction has been strong, with many praising Charity for her inadvertent but crucial role in saving the phone.

“She saved the device without even knowing what was inside,” one online commentator noted. Others have called for a thorough investigation to ensure justice for Olwal and to hold the suspects accountable.

Authorities continue to investigate the murder focusing on both the suspects and the circumstances that led to Olwal’s death.

They have urged the public to come forward with any information that may help in solving the case.
