A family in Kiambu is facing immense hardship after their father died, leaving his body unburied for four years while their mother remains in prison.
The ordeal began after the late father married a second wife. The children say tensions grew when the new wife allegedly moved into their home and took control of the property. This dispute eventually led to their mother’s imprisonment, leaving the family without parental guidance.
Margaret, one of the daughters, described the struggle. “We only saw his remains after four years, and it hit us hard that he had been in a body bag all this time,” she said tearfully.
Life without their parents has been extremely difficult. The children rely on neighbors for shelter, struggle to pay school fees, and face constant emotional stress. They hope authorities and well-wishers will help them finally lay their father to rest and review their mother’s case.
The story has drawn sympathy from neighbors, church leaders, and the local community, who are urging justice and support for the children.
The case highlights how property disputes and legal complications can leave families in limbo for years. The children remain hopeful that with intervention, they will find closure and a chance to rebuild their lives.
