Residents of Gikoe village in Murang’a County were left shocked after a man was accused of biting people in the area.
The strange incident happened only a few days after a similar case was reported in Ruiru, Kiambu County, where another man was accused of attacking and biting residents. Because of the similarities, many people online wondered if the two incidents could be connected. However, police have not confirmed any link between the cases.
Several people who claimed to have been bitten shared photos of their injuries on social media. The images quickly spread online, causing fear and sparking debate among Kenyans.
According to reports, angry villagers tracked down the suspect before he could escape. They restrained him with ropes and kept him at the scene until police officers arrived. Photos showing the shirtless suspect tied on the ground also circulated widely on social media.
The unusual incident attracted many reactions from Kenyans. Some demanded that the suspect explain why he was allegedly biting people, while others questioned whether he was the same person linked to the earlier attacks in Ruiru.
Despite the public speculation, police had not released the suspect’s identity or announced the charges he might face by the time the report was published. Authorities have also not confirmed whether the Murang’a and Ruiru incidents are related.
