Shusho and hus

Trouble continues for gospel singer Christina Shusho and her estranged husband John Shusho. Their split has drawn attention, and John’s recent comments have added more insight into the situation.

Christina had previously said she asked John to let her go so she could follow her calling. She emphasized they remain on good terms and that everyone has their own path, even within a marriage.

During a recent sermon, John shared the emotional toll of their separation. He told his congregation that while it hurt deeply, it was part of God’s plan.

“Tell your neighbour it hurts, but God has ordained it. He prepares us for what comes next. To reach a new level, you face challenges. You cannot succeed without a test. New level, new devil, new glory. These struggles prepare you for what is to come,” John said.

He also admitted that the challenges were unexpected. “Preparation is rarely what you expect. Pain comes because you face new trials. God uses that pain to shape you, to make you stronger than before,” he explained.

John has been a pastor and musician for many years. While working for the government, he formed the Gospel Outreach Band, which included Christina. The group enjoyed early success before facing obstacles that tested their journey.

His openness about the pain of divorce struck a chord online. Many praised their ability to part ways respectfully, while others shared their own stories of heartbreak.

The couple’s story shows that following God’s calling sometimes requires tough personal decisions, even within marriage.
