Nelius Mukami, the wife of Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, has opened up about her life and revealed that she has now fully healed from the depression that she was suffering from for many years.

The sassy queen, who is also a mental health advocate, disclosed this in a post that she made on her Facebook account on Thursday, where further revealed what she did to finally overcome the challenge.

According to Nelius Mukami, what actually worked for her was how she made the decision to just take care of herself and focus on her well-being.

The mother of one also shared four photos that captured her growth journey over the years, from a time when she was very depressed to now that she is fully healed.

What was clear is that she indeed looked happier now compared to how she was before as shown in the screenshots below.

How she looked when she was depressed.

How she looks after healing from depression

“Same person. Different season.

This is a throwback to a time when I was silently battling depression – holding in pain that didn’t always have words. I looked okay on the outside, but inside I was tired, overwhelmed and struggling to simply get through the day.

Healing doesn’t always look like a straight line. Some days it’s just getting out of bed and taking a shower and that’s enough. Other days it’s laughing loudly, feeling joyful and showing up for others. Some days, it’s sitting quietly with yourself or finally having the energy to connect with someone.

What I’ve learned is; self-care comes in many forms. And no matter what yours looks like today it is valid. You are enough…” Nelius Mukami said in part.

The sassy queen further comforted anyone out there who is currently going through depression like the way she did.

“To anyone struggling right now: Be kind to yourself. Give yourself grace. Offer yourself compassion. Do what you can today and let that be enough” she added.

The disclosure by Nelius Mukami is indeed some good news, because she had reportedly struggled with depression since 2018 when she lost two of her triplets.

Apart from that, the maternal health advocate was also suffering from anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
