Teshna

Kenyan actress Serah Teshna moved mourners to tears as she paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother-in-law, Mildred Ayiemba Osotsi, during a memorial service held at The Church of God in South B, Mariakani, on Wednesday, July 2.

In a deeply emotional speech, Serah shared the touching journey of her relationship with Mildred, who was the mother of her husband, football star Victor Wanyama.

She recalled the nervousness she felt the first time Victor asked her to meet his mother, describing it as a mixture of fear and curiosity.

“I was very scared like any other girl would be, but also eager to meet the woman who raised such a strong, humble, and respectful man,” Serah said.

To her surprise, Mildred welcomed her with open arms and treated her as her own daughter. Over the nearly ten years of knowing her, Serah said their bond only grew stronger, making the loss even more painful.

She described Mildred not only as a loving mother-in-law but also as an incredible grandmother who adored her grandchildren.

One of the most memorable moments Serah recounted was when they moved into their first home. At the time, she was nine months pregnant, and Mildred took it upon herself to manage the kitchen.

“She told me, ‘Mam, leave the kitchen to me.’ She was such a generous host, and her cooking was unmatched,” Serah recalled with a fond smile.

Serah ended her tribute by expressing her sorrow over the loss and wondering who would fill the irreplaceable void Mildred had left in the family.
