With social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, fans get to keep up with their favorite stars at the touch of a follow button. You get easy access behind-the-scenes of celebrities’ everyday life, whether it’s an Instagram story from the latest red carpet event or just a tweet about their new favorite lunch spot. But despite social media being so ingrained in our society, some stars prefer not to give an inside look into their lives.

Today we look at world celebrities who are not on social media.

Kristen Stewart

According to Google, over 90 million people have searched for Stewart’s Instagram page. However, each and every time they’ve come up short. Stewart is famously not on any social media apps. And while some celebrities are exclusively on social media to promote their projects, the New Moon alum doesn’t even do that

She said, ” It’s like you are trampling on someone’s life without any regard. Everyone can do it now, Buy a camera and you are paparazzi. Get a Twitter and you are an Informant. It is so annoying”. In a 2016 interview, she also said that social media is “time-consuming” and “we could be doing way better things than it”.

Benedict Cumberbatch

Cumberbatch jokes about his own insecurities as his reason for not using social media. He told an audience of Sherlock Holmes fans at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, “I think the reason why… I don’t tweet… if I did you’d very soon be disappointed because it really is a skill — it’s a skill I genuinely don’t have… Just listen to how much I talk. I’ve already talked over our time and tweeting is about being pithy.

Uhuru Kenyatta

Kenyan former President Uhuru Kenyatta has always confessed his absence from social media. According to the commander in chief, he could not handle the intimidating pressure from netizens online and therefore chose to quit some few years ago.
