University of Nairobi Lecturer Professor Herman Manyora has warned President William Ruto that he is soiling up his own government, and that might make it tough for him in the 2027 polls.
According to Manyora, Ruto who is seemingly finding it hard to run the country is making things bad by giving Kenyans the perception that he is out to revenge on those who opposed his presidential bid, instead of focusing on issues that affect the ordinary Kenyan.
“Ruto himself is making matter worse by going with what appears like a revenge mission. I have said repeatedly that in matters public affairs, perception is key. At now, a good number of Kenyans think that President Ruto is out to revenge. He has identified Uhuru Kenyatta as an object of hate, and in turn direct the suffering of this country to the former president.”
“Ruto has in addition given himself an unnecessary burden by forming a cabinet that is not inspiring, and putting in office people who have questionable backgrounds. This leaves the president as the only man in charge, and thus it will be hard for him to manage the next four years.”
With president Ruto currently in the Burundi a day after he toured Somalia, Manyora said that the president is making unnecessary trips instead of being in office and set the country rolling since it is his first months in office.
The vocal expert also criticized Ruto’s Sunday services across the country, saying that they staging political campaigns even when he is still constituting his government.
Manyora however opined that Ruto will outsmart the opposition in their push to have him resign, but argued that he will be politically weak in the 2027 polls.
