Zainaji Kombo has sparked widespread debate online, after organising a lavish party complete with live music to celebrate the end of her marriage.

The mother of four stunned many when she revealed that the colourful event, was deliberately planned to mark her divorce, a move that sharply divided public opinion.

Speaking about her decision, Kombo explained that she had endured prolonged tribulations in her marriage and saw no reason to mourn a chapter she was relieved to close.

She maintained that she does not allow love to cause her pain when moving on is an option, adding that personal peace mattered more than societal expectations.

The unusual celebration, dubbed “Usiku wa Talaka”, also popularly referred to as “Talaka Ngijangija,” attracted family members, relatives, friends, and curious onlookers.

Guests reportedly contributed towards the event, which was filled with song, dance, cheers, and excitement.

To make the occasion memorable, Kombo hired a professional musician who entertained attendees late into the night.

“I really wanted a divorce, and that is why I’m celebrating,” she said. “Love never stresses me out. When I get tired, I simply move on. I was exhausted by the problems in the marriage.”

Kombo further disclosed that she has been married three times and is a mother of four children, all of whom live with her.

She explained that her most recent marriage resulted in twins. According to her, she had grand celebrations for each of her weddings, and she saw no reason why her divorce should be treated any differently.

Adding another twist to the story, rumours circulated that her ex-husband attended the party despite not being invited.

Kombo confirmed hearing about his presence but said she had no issue with it. “I didn’t invite him or his family, but if he is here, it’s okay. We can celebrate as human beings,” she stated.

While some critics felt the celebration was in poor taste and contrary to cultural norms, others praised Kombo for boldly choosing happiness and redefining how society views divorce and new beginnings.
