Kenyans were on Friday treated to a comic view after a rare photo of Kenya’s ‘speed legend’ car emerged flexing muscles with one of the Safari Rally cars currently in the country.

In the photo, the car, a Toyota Probox could be seen testing its speedometer with a rally car along a busy highway. Though the exact location of the picture remained unknown, it was suspected that the photo was taken along the busy Nairobi-Naivasha highway on Sunday.

This is suspected to have been taken on Thursday evening as the rally cars raced down the great Rift Valley venue for the start of the second round of the rally World Rally championships.

The photo immediately attracted witty reactions from Kenyans, who made fun of the probox car. Toyota Probox is famous in Kenya for synonymous to its speed. It is one of the cars in the country usually driven at high speeds and has largely been used in delivering perishable goods including miraa from Meru to other parts of the country.

Many described the event as a real challenge between the reigning speed legend in the country against a foreign rally maestro.

The WRC Safari Rally has brought new energy to Naivasha as business and hotel owners affirmed.

“Having the safari rally during the Easter period is advantageous to us, we are fully booked and happy to host the WRC Safari rally teams and fans” stated one businessman
