This week Kenyans most Kenyans were shocked when they heard the news that a man had been shot in broad daylight on Mirema Drive near Kasarani by an unknown gunman.
The man turned out to be Samuel Mugo Mugota aged 49.
New information coming from the late Samuel’s wife indicates that the widow didn’t know the kind of business he was doing during their 17 years of marriage.
Speaking to the media, the widow said that the late Samuel would get unsettled every time she tried to inquire about his business dealings.
Although his response raised her suspicions, she decided to drop the matter altogether. The widow added that she had seen two of the late Samuel’s vehicles being driven by women unknown to her.
The late Samuel’s widow wasn’t the only intimate of the deceased who opened up. The late’s brother said that he hadn’t spoken to him for close to 7 years.
In other related news, the late Samuel was under probe over, among others, bank fraud and forgery of identification documents.
Police said they found seven different identification documents in his car, some of which had been reported as stolen.
One complainant had told police her identification and bank documents found in the car were used to syphon her bank account of Sh360,000.
According to police, this was one of the cases reported to them and he was on their radar over SIM swapping crime and ‘wash-wash’ racket.
Mugota was May 16 shot while in the driver’s seat of his Honda CRV car.
A postmortem done on his body at the City Mortuary confirmed he died out of excessive bleeding. He had six bullet wounds on his body and specifically in the chest.
