The resurfaced photographs come days after Chivayo died in a helicopter crash in Zimbabwe. He and his wife, Lucy Muteke, were among six people killed when the aircraft crashed in the Marondera area on September 30. The deaths were subsequently confirmed by Chivayo’s family and Zimbabwean authorities.

Chivayo, who founded Intratrek Zimbabwe, built a prominent business profile through interests including energy and infrastructure projects. He also attracted considerable public attention through his social-media posts, philanthropy and relationships with prominent political figures.

His extravagant lifestyle was a recurring feature of his online presence, making photographs of his properties, vehicles and personal possessions particularly popular with followers.

The shoe collection is now among several images being revisited following his death, as members of the public reflect on the businessman’s life and the wealth he displayed publicly.

Meanwhile, investigations into the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Chivayo, Muteke and four others are continuing. Authorities have yet to establish the cause of the accident.
