The late John Demathew was a Kikuyu Singer for many years until he passed on 3 years ago through a road accident. He left behind two wives the first one Sarafina and the second one is Carolyne. He already had two kids before marrying his first wife which makes him a father to six children.
The two wives seemed united after their husband’s demise they appeared together in some interviews until recently when the second wife revealed she was sent away from her home where she had lived for 5 years. In a recent interview with Kikuyu MC Karangu Muraya, she revealed that the fence of the house she lived in had been moved. The late singer was laid to rest where she lived but now the family claims that he was not buried in his land.
She said his grave is now surrounded by new buildings which causes fears the land belongs to someone else, according to Muceneneko Kikuyu News, Carolyne is afraid that some years to come they might not be allowed to visit the grave if indeed the claims are true. Sarafina Demathew has still not spoken about the issue claimed by the singer’s family.
