Some of the events that President William Ruto graced some years back are sparking emotions today, approximately 10 years after the events.

In one of the events, Dr Ruto graced the homecoming of the first Murang’a County Woman Rep, Hon Sabina Chege.

The colourful event was held at Kimorori Grounds in Kenol, Murang’a County in March 2014.

According to a post that Chege shared on social media today, June 08, her homecoming event was graced by William Samoei Ruto as the chief guest, accompanied by his wife, Mama Rachel Ruto.

She noted that the duo enjoyed the entertainment provided by Carol Katrue, a talented gospel-turned-Mugithi singer.

Sabina has revealed that the occasion was not only a celebration but also a demonstration of the commitment to empowering women, as the monetary support received was channelled to registered women’s groups for table banking under the umbrella of the Joyful Women Organization (JOYWO), with a remarkable Total Revolving Fund (TRF) of 210M to date.

Empowering Women
She revealed that one of the significant achievements of this homecoming event was the allocation of the received monetary support to organized and registered women’s groups for table banking.

Through the efforts of the Joyful Women Organization (JOYWO), under the patronage of Mama Rachel Ruto, the TRF has grown to an impressive 210M.

Sabina also noted that the substantial revolving fund has played a vital role in uplifting women and supporting their entrepreneurial endeavours, fostering economic empowerment in Murang’a County

Unforgettable Moments
The presence of Ruto added to the grandeur of the occasion. As the chief guest, he addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of community development and empowering women.

However, Ruto ended up falling out with Sabina Chege as the country headed towards the 2022 general election

Sabina supported Azimio la Umoja, but after they were defeated, she again switched her stance and started supporting the Kenya Kwanza side, which marked her fallout with Azimio.
