Majority of Kenyans have travelled upcountry to be with their close friends and relatives whom they have missed for a year or generally for a longer time.

Kenya’s fifth president, William Samoei Ruto has also travelled back to his home county in Uasin Gishu from the large Rift valley region, the head of the country with the company of first lady Mama Rachel Ruto and a host of politicians have attended a general christmas celebration meeting in Kesses, Uasin Gishu county.

Kesses constituency is a neighbour of Kapsaret constituency where Oscar Kipchumba Sudi is a member of Parliament there, the United Democratic Alliance MP is a close ally of Ruto but today he has not attended the event which the president has attended also.

Current Kesses MP has conveyed Oscar Sudi’s apology to the head of state for skipping the event, according to the MP, Sudi had prior arrangements with his family and they are celebrating elsewhere.
