Kenyan musician Stivo Simple Boy has sparked a conversation after advising Mumias East MP Peter Salasya to steer clear of drugs. The artist, known for his simple yet impactful messages, urged the youthful legislator to set a good example for the people he represents.

Stivo’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions about drug abuse among the youth and leaders’ role in shaping society. While some Kenyans supported his call, others found humor in the situation, leading to a flood of reactions online.

In a post that has since gained traction, several Kenyans took to social media to share their thoughts. One user, Brown Larry, dismissed the conversation, telling Stivo to focus on his own affairs: “Stivooo weee shuglikaaa na kiki zakoooo.” This suggests that some believe Stivo is merely chasing clout.

Another user, Felo Mchizi, brought up the debate around legalizing cannabis, implying that Stivo’s message might become irrelevant in the near future: “Simpo ngoja cannabis ipitishwe utatuambia mihadarati ni nini.”

Festus Junior took a different approach, questioning what Peter Salasya himself had to say on the matter: “Na Salasya mwenyewe anasemaje?” His comment reflects curiosity about the MP’s reaction to Stivo’s advice.

Meanwhile, Derrick Mbarix humorously suggested that the MP might retaliate once he sees the post: “Atakuwakia, ngoja aone hii.”

The exchange has reignited debates on drug use in Kenya, with some supporting Stivo’s stance while others see the issue as more complex. Whether the MP will respond remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—this conversation is far from over.
