Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba says she is in danger after answering a call from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

She told the media on April 7 that she believes some people are trying to harm her. Wamuchomba claimed that “mercenaries” were hired to threaten, hurt, and kidnap her.

She said that she received a strange summon, and when she asked the police about it, they denied being involved. Wamuchomba also accused her former colleague of trying to frustrate her by visiting her office and intimidating her staff.

She shared that her security had been taken away, which made her feel unsafe.

Wamuchomba wants her bodyguard back and more protection, saying that if anything happens to her, it’s clear who is behind it. She also mentioned that she was summoned to stop her from attending an event at Githunguri Stadium where President William Ruto was visiting.

The MP also criticized President Ruto for staying quiet after several attacks on leaders who support Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Many people in Githunguri are standing by Wamuchomba. Some local residents expressed their concerns and support for her, saying that they believe her claims and feel her life is at risk.

One resident said, “She’s been working hard for us, and we don’t think she’s lying. We want her to be safe.”

Another added, “We are with her. It’s wrong for anyone to threaten her. She deserves protection.”

A third resident mentioned, “It’s not right for the government to remove her security. She’s our leader, and we want her to stay safe.”
